Coasters, trivets, keychains, magnets, jewelry, illustrated quotes, etched artwork...
Lasercutting is more accessible than other types of digital fabrication, like 3D printing. The 3D modeling software requires knowledge and experience, and the 3D prints themselves can take between 5 and 30 hours to print. Lasercutting uses vector-based software, like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape (a free, online alternative), and with a little guidance, complete beginners can leave in less than an hour with a finished product.
The products that I’ve created over the last five years range from coasters and trivets, to illustrated quotes and wall hangings. You can explore all the products I’ve made in the section below. You can also learn about lasercutting, makerspaces, and at Lasercutting. If you're interested in what it takes to run a makerspace workshop, check out my experience during last fall's Maker In Residency.
