My art is personal to me; I make it for myself. It's nice when others like it, and I'm happy when it helps them, but my art helps me first.
Sometimes it appears in the form of a quote or lyric that had struck me, or a mantra to get through hard times. These appear in a catch-all project, "Notes to Self." My vector designs for lasercutting crossover with my "Radials," patterned concentric designs that originated by hand and become symmetrical vectors. Another ongoing project, "Fowl Language," features comics of tiny birds saying rude things (including some swears). You can find all these below.
Most recently (pre-pandemic), I had a job that involved 30 minutes of commute on the light rail twice a day. Almost every day, I challenged myself to start and finish a drawing in those 30 minutes. They are "Train Doodles," and they're unedited, but they're also proof that I can draw decently well while standing up on a train. Usually balancing a longboard and an iced coffee.
